Zebrina Bordeaux (Tradescantia zebrina ‘Burgundy’) is a trailing foliage plant admired for its rich burgundy-purple leaves accented with subtle striping and a soft metallic sheen. Its cascading habit makes it an excellent choice for hanging baskets, containers, and as a spiller in mixed arrangements, where it adds depth and vibrant colour contrast. Fast-growing and easy to maintain, it provides lush, continuous interest throughout the season. In Manitoba, it is best grown as a warm-season annual, as it is sensitive to frost but can be brought indoors to overwinter in a bright location.

Light Requirements
Performs best in bright, indirect light to partial sun. Adequate light helps maintain its deep burgundy colouring, while lower light may lead to fading tones and stretched growth. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense direct sun, which can scorch the foliage.
Water Requirements
Prefers evenly moist, well-drained soil. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings, but do not let the plant dry out completely. Ensure containers have good drainage to prevent excess moisture buildup.
Toxicity
This plant may cause mild irritation if ingested and can sometimes irritate skin with sap exposure. It is best kept out of reach of pets and small children.
