Medallion Calathea (Calathea roseopicta) is a stunning tropical houseplant known for its large, rounded leaves featuring beautiful patterns of dark green, light green, and creamy tones. The deep purple undersides of the leaves add extra visual interest, making it an excellent choice for adding colour and texture to indoor spaces. Light Requirements
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant leaf patterns and healthy growth. It can tolerate moderate to lower light conditions but may grow more slowly. Avoid direct sunlight, as harsh rays can scorch and fade the delicate leaves.
Water Requirements
Keep the soil consistently lightly moist but never soggy. Water when the top 1 inch of soil begins to dry, then allow excess moisture to drain away. Calatheas prefer filtered, distilled, or rainwater when possible, as they can be sensitive to minerals and chemicals commonly found in tap water. Maintain higher humidity for best growth.
Toxicity
Generally considered non-toxic to cats, dogs, and humans. However, ingestion of plant material may cause mild stomach upset. Keep out of reach of pets and small children.
