Marine Heliotrope is a fragrant, tender perennial (often grown as an annual in colder climates) known for its dense clusters of small, deep violet-blue flowers with a rich vanilla-like scent. Its bushy, rounded habit and dark green, slightly textured foliage make it an excellent choice for containers, patio planters, and garden beds, where it provides both colour and fragrance throughout the season. Blooming from late spring into fall, it attracts pollinators while adding a soft, classic charm to mixed plantings. In Manitoba, it is grown as a warm-season annual, thriving in full sun to partial shade but sensitive to frost.

Marine Heliotrope, 5" Pot
Light Requirements
Prefers full sun to partial shade. Best flowering occurs with morning sun and light afternoon protection in hotter conditions.
Water Requirements
Prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil. Do not allow soil to dry out completely, as heliotrope can wilt quickly under drought stress.
Toxicity
May be toxic if ingested in large quantities, potentially causing mild gastrointestinal discomfort in pets and humans, so caution is advised in households with curious animals.
