Donkey Tail (Sedum morganianum) is a whimsical and eye-catching succulent known for its cascading, rope-like stems densely packed with plump, blue-green leaves. Often grown in hanging planters or placed on shelves where its trailing growth can spill gracefully, this low-maintenance plant adds a playful yet sculptural element to indoor or sheltered outdoor spaces. With its unique texture and trailing habit, Donkey Tail makes an ideal accent for boho, modern, or naturalistic interiors.
Native to southern Mexico and Honduras, Sedum morganianum is a drought-tolerant species adapted to thrive in warm, arid environments. It’s a slow-growing succulent that rewards patience with long, trailing vines that can eventually reach several feet in length. Its leaves are delicate and may fall off when touched, but they can often be propagated easily, making this plant a charming and generous addition to any succulent collection.
