Light Requirements
Prefers full sun for best flowering performance. Provide at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. In hotter climates, light afternoon shade can help preserve bloom color and extend flower longevity.
Water Requirements
Water regularly during the growing season, especially while establishing. Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Ensure well-draining soil, as peonies do not tolerate soggy conditions. Reduce watering once the plant goes dormant in fall.
Toxicity
Peonies may cause mild gastrointestinal upset if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children. Sap may also cause mild skin irritation in sensitive individuals.
