Glenleven Linden
Tilia × flavescens 'Glenleven'
Elegant, upright, and highly adaptable, Glenleven Linden is a fast-growing deciduous shade tree known for its symmetrical form, fragrant flowers, and urban toughness. A hybrid between American and Littleleaf Linden, it offers the best of both species—graceful appearance with superior cold hardiness and vigor.
In early summer, clusters of pale yellow, sweetly scented flowers bloom among the heart-shaped green leaves, attracting bees and other pollinators. The foliage remains a clean, glossy green through the season before turning a soft yellow in autumn.
Glenleven Linden matures to 40–50 feet tall with a narrow, pyramidal shape, making it ideal for boulevards, large yards, or as a formal avenue planting. It performs well in full sun and adapts to a wide range of soil types, including urban conditions with compacted or alkaline soil. Hardy to Zone 3, it is well-suited to most Canadian climates.
Whether planted for shade, structure, or pollinator value, Glenleven Linden is a reliable and refined choice that brings beauty and resilience to both residential and commercial landscapes.
