Gardener’s Notes:
Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost or sow directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Nicotiana prefers full sun to partial shade and rich, well-drained soil. Sow seeds on the soil surface and press gently—do not cover, as light is required for germination. Keep soil consistently moist until seedlings emerge. Transplant or thin plants to 12–18 inches apart. Water regularly and remove spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming. Nicotiana thrives in cooler summer evenings and will provide fragrance and color well into the season.
